Your whole setup. Saved.

Everything that makes your computer yours — the apps, the settings, the little things — kept safe on a disk you hold, ready to bring any machine home.

Backup

Everything, on your disk.

One click gathers your apps, your settings, your files — and then proves it, reading every file back and checking its fingerprint before it ever says “done”. Not to someone else’s cloud. To a disk in your hand.

Timeline

Your machine, remembered.

Every backup is a chapter. Scroll back through time, see what changed, and return to any moment — the day before the big update, the setup you had last summer. Nothing is ever lost by moving forward.

Apply

A new computer, in minutes.

Plug in your disk. Press Apply. Watch a brand-new machine become unmistakably yours — apps installed, settings restored, files back in their places. It even knows your name changed and points everything to the right home.

See it before it happens

Every apply shows you both directions first — what arrives, what leaves. Nothing moves until you say so.

All or nothing

An apply either completes entirely or changes nothing at all. There is no halfway.

Always a way back

A safety snapshot is taken before anything changes. Any setup, any moment, one press away.

Discover

Every app. One search.

Search across every world your platform speaks, install with one click — and everything you add becomes part of your setup automatically: saved, versioned, portable. Uninstall the same way. Updates too. It’s a store that remembers.

Privacy

Yours means yours.

Your files live on your disk — never uploaded. Your account carries only a small catalog of names and dates, so your devices can find each other. Sign-ins and private files are sealed with a key that only your machines hold. We couldn’t read them if we wanted to.

Get Setups.

Mac

One line in Terminal, and the app is in your Applications folder.

brew install --cask meta-thinking/tap/setups

First launch: macOS will ask once — approve it in Privacy & Security, or run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Setups.app. We’re finishing Apple notarization to make this disappear.

🐧 Linux

The Setups app, as a Flatpak.

flatpak install flathub net.meta_thinking.Setups

On the way — finishing our Flathub release.

For power users: the full Setups command line — install, uninstall, version, plan, and apply your whole machine from the terminal — is one click away inside the app, under Settings.
